Area of Concern

Accumulation of mold in pepperoni drying environment

Problem

Sterilex was counted by a pepperoni factory whose aluminum ventilation ducts had a concentration of sujeira. The high humidity and the accumulation of dust caused mold to accumulate in the pepperoni drying environments and affected air quality.

Context

Air quality tests led the factory to develop a protocol for the sanitization of the ventilation ducts. The compatibility of the material was important, since the boxes were mainly made of aluminum. As a result, the factory decided to do a comparative experiment with Solution 1 Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner, Sterilex Ultra Soft Metal Activator and a competitor's spiral cleaner developed for malleable metals.

Results

  • The tank treated with the serpentine cleaning product showed slightly cloudy water with some mold particles. According to the inspection, it was still possible to see mold in and on the container.
  • The caisson treated with Sterilex solutions resulted in fairly turbid water and larger portions of red and black mold, as well as suspended debris varying from the size of a fleck to a baseball. According to the inspection, the residues and mold were not visible in the casing.
  • Due to the test results, the products Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner Solution 1 and Sterilex Ultra Soft Metal Activator were implemented as part of the five-year vent cleaning program.
