Is your product compatible with membrane cleaning?
No, Sterilex Ultra CIP is not compatible with membrane technology.
What types of systems do these products work with?
Sterilex Ultra CIP and Sterilex Ultra Activator Solution can be used in most low and medium agitation CIP systems without spray balls. Sterilex Ultra CIP will still generate foam at the agitation points and requires defoaming action prior to recirculation to prevent pump cavitation.
What is the pH of the product in solution?
When mixed, the foaming disinfectants Sterilex PerQuat have a pH between 10.4 and 10.6. Their high buffering capacity allows them to maintain efficacy over a wider range of water qualities.
Why is it a two-part product?
The superior formulation of Sterilex PerQuat technology, designed as a two-component system, enables high efficacy against pathogens using lower concentrations of active ingredients.
What is the difference between “biofilm removal” and “biofilm kill”?
Both “biofilm removal” and “biofilm kill” are terms regulated by the EPA. The “biofilm kill” claim refers only to the control of bacteria within a biofilm and applies only to the specific microorganisms listed on the individual product label. The biofilm kill [...]
How often should I apply Sterilex Ultra Step?
Most facilities reapply the product daily, although the frequency may vary depending on the level of foot traffic in the area. Some plants may need to reapply Sterilex Ultra Step up to once per shift to ensure that all footwear is properly covered.
Will this product impact my water waste?
In almost all cases, no. However, since quaternary ammonium is one of the active ingredients in PerQuat sanitizers and disinfectants, there is a potential for adverse effects in wastewater systems. However, when calculating the amount needed to cause any harm, it is often much higher than the [...]
Does this product require water to activate?
This dry sanitizer requires moisture to activate, although it does not necessarily have to come from added water. In general, if there is enough moisture in the environment to generate microbiological concern, there will also be enough moisture to activate the product and kill those microorganisms.
