Worker disinfecting using foaming equipment in food processing

Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner Solution 1 (Solution 1) and Sterilex Ultra Activator Solution (Solution 2) are specifically designed to enhance the existing disinfection program and solve the toughest sanitation challenges. With the implementation of a complete program of Sterilex liquid products, it has been proven to eliminate positive environmental contaminants, control specific niches where pathogens abound and thrive, and remove biofilm by eliminating biofilm-forming bacteria.

Shock Treatment

When starting to use Solution 1 and Solution 2 in a processing plant, it is important to implement a shock protocol (indicated for high challenges) before implementing maintenance treatments. Shock treatment should also be used when microbiological contamination in the plant increases, when a new risk area is identified, or when expiration times decrease. Shock treatment with Solution 1 and Solution 2 involves daily use of products for 3-5 consecutive days.

Maintenance Treatments

After successfully completing the shock treatment, plants can begin experimenting with usage frequencies while conducting ongoing environmental monitoring to determine the appropriate or necessary Sterilex protocol. In general, Solution 1 and Solution 2 should be used at least Three times a week as part of the RTE team or more in highly sensitive environments and at least Once a week in other areas.

Recommended Operating Protocol for Off-Site Cleaning Systems (COP)

  1. Dismantle all small parts and place them in an off-site cleaning system tank (COP).
  2. Fill the off-site cleaning system (COP) tank with chlorinated alkaline cleaner at the recommended dilution, allow to soak thoroughly, then rinse.
  3. Fill the off-site cleaning system (COP) tank with the predetermined amount of water at a temperature between 37.8°C and 60°C (100°F and 140°F). Add bubble hose (optional).
  4. Add 100–125 ml of Solution 1 and 100–125 ml of Solution 2 per liter of water (1:1:10).
  5. Soak the parts for 30 minutes.
  6. Drain and rinse all surfaces with plenty of drinking water.

Recommended Operating Protocol for Foam Application

  1. Wash all surfaces with chlorinated alkaline detergent and rinse with water.
  2. Prepare the mixture of Solution 1 and Solution 2 mixed in a ratio of 1:1:10 (100–125 ml of each solution per liter of water). Use the solution within 8 hours after mixing.
  3. Apply abundant foam to elevated areas, walls, equipment, floors, and drains to ensure good coverage. Allow the product to penetrate all cavities in the treated surfaces.
    1. Minimum contact time: 10 minutes
    2. Recommended contact time: 30 minutes
    3. Water temperature: Between 37.8°C and 60°C (100°F and 140°F)
  4. Rinse all surfaces thoroughly with drinking water.
  5. Apply an approved disinfectant for use on food contact surfaces (no rinsing required) to all contact surfaces.
