Sterilex Ultra Step® Sterilex Ultra Step® Sterilex Ultra Step® Sterilex Ultra Step

Reg. EPA #63761-10

Designed for low humidity environments, Sterilex Ultra Step is an EPA-registered dry sanitizer approved to kill pathogens such as  ListeriaEscherichia coli (E. coli), Salmonella and avian influenza on floors and facility entrances. Sterilex Ultra Step is specifically formulated to solve sanitation challenges where conventional dry cleaners and unregistered powder products (such as peroxides or dry bleaches) are ineffective. In addition, it lasts longer than many competing products and can generally be applied at a much lower rate than traditional floor treatments.

Sterilex Ultra Step is the last line of defense for sustainable animal production and animal welfare in live production environment access zones.

Science

Sterilex Ultra Step is based on our patented PerQuat® technology. This dry sanitizer, formulated from a mixture of peroxide and quaternary ammonium, incorporates an anti-dust agent and has a dust content equivalent to 0.0014%, being considered ‘virtually dust free’ - Category 1, according to the MT 171.1 method of the Collaborative International Pesticides Analytical Council (CIPAC). In addition, its blue colored granules are easily distinguishable from food ingredients.

Sterilex Ultra Step applications

Sterilex Ultra Step improves sanitization on hard, non-porous, non-food contact surfaces. It is easy to use and can be applied on any type of floor, even during production, saving time and labor costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

This dry sanitizer requires moisture to activate, although it does not necessarily have to come from added water. In general, if there is enough moisture in the environment to generate microbiological concern, there will also be enough moisture to activate the product and kill those microorganisms.

In almost all cases, no. However, since quaternary ammonium is one of the active ingredients in PerQuat sanitizers and disinfectants, there is a potential for adverse effects in wastewater systems.
However, when calculating the amount needed to cause any damage, this is usually much higher than the amount present in the installation, so the risk of negative impacts is practically nil.
If you have any questions regarding wastewater treatment systems and Sterilex products, please contact your Sterilex representative.

Most facilities reapply the product daily, although the frequency may vary depending on the level of foot traffic in the area. Some plants may need to reapply Sterilex Ultra Step up to once per shift to ensure that all footwear is properly covered.
